Effective and affordable treatments are needed for COVID-19 patients. We report the in vitro efficacy of Artemisia annua extracts as well as artemisinin, artesunate and artemether against CoV-2-SARS. The last two are approved active pharmaceutical ingredients for antimalarial drugs. (...) Clinical studies are needed to better assess the usefulness of these compounds as a treatment for COVID-19.
